BOOXDrop on the same Wi-Fi
Best for a quick, account-free transfer. Open BOOXDrop on the tablet, type its local address into your computer browser, then upload the file.
Use BOOXDrop when your computer and tablet share a network. It is the shortest route from a download folder to the BOOX Library.
QUICK ANSWER
Connect the BOOX tablet and computer to the same local network. Open the built-in BOOXDrop app on the tablet, enter the address shown there into a browser on the computer, then upload your PDF, EPUB or other document. The file appears in BOOXDrop's Receive tab. No BOOX account is required for this local method.
CHOOSE A METHOD
Best for a quick, account-free transfer. Open BOOXDrop on the tablet, type its local address into your computer browser, then upload the file.
Best when the devices are not on the same network. Sign in on the correct regional BOOX website and collect the file from the Push tab.
Best for large folders or an offline transfer. Windows can use File Explorer; a Mac needs software that can browse Android devices.
THE SIMPLEST ROUTE
Connect the computer and BOOX tablet to the same home, office or hotspot network.
Launch the built-in BOOXDrop app on the tablet. It will show a local web address for the current session.
Type the full address into a current browser. Keep BOOXDrop open on the tablet while you transfer.
Choose the file on the computer and wait for the transfer to finish before closing the page.
On the tablet, check BOOXDrop's Receive tab. Open the document there or move it into the folder structure you use for the BOOX Library.
WHEN LOCAL TRANSFER IS NOT AVAILABLE
BOOX also provides an online transfer route. On the computer, open push.boox.com for the US/Vietnam server or eur.boox.com for the European server. Sign in with the same BOOX account and server used on the tablet, upload the file under BOOXDrop, then find it in the Push tab of BOOXDrop on the device.
This is useful across different networks, but it adds an account and cloud step. For a computer sitting beside the tablet, the local BOOXDrop address is usually more direct.
THE CABLE ROUTE
On Windows, connect the BOOX tablet with a data-capable USB cable, select File Transfer in the tablet's USB Preferences, then use File Explorer to copy documents. Put files in a folder you can recognise, disconnect safely and refresh the BOOX Library if the item does not appear immediately.
BOOX's current Mac instructions recommend OpenMTP or Android File Transfer software because macOS does not browse Android storage in Finder by itself. After connecting, enable File Transfer on the BOOX device and refresh the transfer app if necessary.
ARTICLES FROM THE WEB
If the source is a normal webpage, Send2BOOX can add its URL through PushRead. On the computer, sign in to the matching regional site, open PushRead, choose Webpage and enter the URL. The page should then appear in the PushRead app on the BOOX tablet. Use this route for readable web articles; keep PDF for material whose original layout matters.
IF IT DOES NOT WORK
A guest network or client-isolation setting can stop the computer and BOOX tablet from seeing each other even when both show the same Wi-Fi name.
The local web address is available only while BOOXDrop is running. Use the exact address shown on the BOOX screen.
For online transfer, use push.boox.com for the US/Vietnam server or eur.boox.com for the European server, matching the server selected on the tablet.
Some USB-C cables charge only. If the computer does not see the tablet, try a known data cable and choose File Transfer in USB Preferences.
If the local page still will not load, restart BOOXDrop and reconnect both devices. For persistent USB or account problems, send logs through Settings > Feedback or use BOOX support rather than factory-resetting the tablet.
Transfer steps were checked on September 13, 2026 against BOOX's current help documentation.
