BOOX adds Readwise integration to NeoReader

The short version

BOOX has added native Readwise support to NeoReader, the reading app included on its E-Ink devices. You can export highlights, underlines and annotations to a Readwise account, then revisit saved material from NeoReader or the Readwise Android app.

Why this matters

Highlighting a useful paragraph is easy. Finding it again three months later is where most reading systems fall apart. Readwise gathers those fragments into one searchable library and brings them back through regular reviews.

The new connection removes a fiddly step for BOOX owners. Notes made while reading in NeoReader can go directly to Readwise instead of being copied into another app by hand.

What you can send to Readwise

BOOX says the integration supports highlights, underlines and annotations created inside NeoReader. From a book's Contents menu, you select the saved material, choose Export to Apps and send it to the linked Readwise account.

You can review without reaching for your phone

Readwise material can be viewed inside the BOOX library, including highlights collected from other connected services. BOOX users can also install the full Readwise app through Google Play for daily reviews, tags, search and flashcards.

That second option is more powerful, but the native view is the calmer one. It keeps the reading and review loop on the same paper-like screen.

What you still need

• A BOOX E-Ink device with current software.
• A Readwise account.
• Books or documents opened through NeoReader if you want the direct export route.
• An internet connection when syncing highlights.

Readwise is a separate paid service after its trial period. The integration is useful, but it is not a free replacement for BOOX's own local notes and exports.

This is a small feature with a clear purpose. BOOX already gives readers plenty of apps and settings. Native Readwise support makes one common workflow simpler instead of adding another menu for the sake of it.

It will matter most to people who read for work, research or study and already use Readwise to keep useful ideas from disappearing into a pile of finished books.
