QUICK ANSWER

Does reMarkable Paper Pro support strikethrough text?

Not as a normal typed-text style. There is one useful exception: completed checkbox items are crossed out automatically.

THE SHORT VERSION

You cannot select ordinary typed text and apply strikethrough.

reMarkable's current text tools let you use styles such as bold and italic, plus lists and checkboxes. They do not include a general strikethrough button. If you need a task list, checkboxes provide the closest built-in result because ticking an item automatically puts a line through it.

WHAT IS SUPPORTED

The distinction is formatting versus ink

Typed-text formatting stays attached to the words as you edit and move them. reMarkable officially describes bold and italic formatting for selected text, along with bullet points and checkboxes. It does not currently document manual strikethrough among those choices.

You can still draw a line through text with the Marker. That works as a visual editing mark, but it is handwriting layered over the page. It is not the same as applying a text style, and it may need to be moved or erased separately if the text changes.

KEY POINTS

What to know before you build a workflow around it

1

No manual strikethrough style

reMarkable currently documents bold and italic for selected typed text, but it does not list strikethrough as a general formatting option.

2

Checkboxes are the exception

When you complete a checkbox item, reMarkable automatically draws a line through that task.

3

A pen line is only visual

You can draw through words with the Marker, but that ink is an annotation rather than formatting attached to the typed text.

4

Software updates can change this

The limitation comes from reMarkable software, not the Paper Pro display, so a future release could add the missing style.

WHY THE ANSWER MAY CHANGE

This is a software limit, not a Paper Pro hardware limit

reMarkable has expanded typed-text tools through software updates before. Bold and italic arrived in software 3.3, while later releases improved selecting and formatting typed passages. That history makes future changes possible, but there is no reason to buy the device on the assumption that manual strikethrough will arrive.

If strikethrough is essential for editing manuscripts, marking revisions, or maintaining task systems outside reMarkable's checkbox format, plan to finish that formatting in another app after export. Buy the Paper Pro for its focused writing and document experience, not for desktop-style word processing.
