QUICK ANSWER
Charge once, restart once, then use the exchange route.
Connect the included cable to a normal, known-good USB power source and leave the Note Air6 C alone for 30 minutes. Disconnect accessories and the microSD card, then hold the power button for about 10 to 20 seconds once. Release it when the screen changes and allow up to 30 minutes for one uninterrupted startup.
If the loading animation still runs without reaching setup, record a short video and contact the seller. Recent owners reported brand-new units that stayed on this screen; one replacement started normally. BOOX directed affected buyers to Customer Service. Do not factory-reset, flash firmware, open the case or repeat recovery-mode attempts on a new device.
READ THE SCREEN
Moving dots do not mean setup is progressing
An E-Ink screen can keep its last picture even without power, so a static BOOX logo alone is not a useful battery test. Moving loading dots or periodic screen refreshes show that the display and part of the system are active. They do not prove Android setup is moving forward.
In a current owner report, a new Note Air6 C remained on an animated loading screen for at least 15 minutes despite showing roughly 90% charge. The owner returned it to Amazon and said the replacement started in about 15 seconds. Another owner in the same discussion reported a new EU-shop unit that continued loading. BOOX asked for the model, order details and a description through its support route.
Starts after one charge and restart
Finish setup, install only the offered stable update, then confirm sleep and restart work normally during the return window.
Animation keeps moving for 30 minutes
The display is active, but setup has not completed. Record a short video and use the seller or BOOX support route.
Frozen image and no charge response
Try one other known-good cable and ordinary USB power source. Stop if the port or case becomes hot, smells unusual or appears damaged.
Repeated logo or loading loop
Do not keep interrupting startup. A new device should be exchanged; a device with local files needs support before any reset.
Two reports are enough to make the symptom worth documenting, but they do not establish a widespread defect, a bad batch or one shared cause. Yeinks has not reproduced it.
SAFE FIRST CHECKS
Use one controlled startup attempt
- Photograph the screen and packaging.Keep the serial number, order record and any shipping damage private. A short video of the moving dots and elapsed time is more useful than repeatedly restarting the tablet.
- Remove optional accessories.Detach the keyboard cover, unplug USB accessories and remove any microSD card. Leave the included Pen3 aside. This reduces variables without changing the device.
- Check the USB-C port and cable.Look for bent metal, debris, looseness or damage. Use the included cable or one known-good alternative with an ordinary USB power source. Do not force the connector.
- Charge for 30 minutes.Leave the device undisturbed. The Note Air6 C specification lists a 3,700mAh battery, but BOOX does not publish a special first-boot charging ritual.
- Restart once.Hold the power button for about 10 to 20 seconds. Release it when the display changes, then give one startup up to 30 minutes without more button presses.
- Read the result, not the hope.If setup appears, finish it and test one normal restart. If the same animated loading screen remains, stop and open a return or support case.
Disconnect power and contact the seller if the device becomes unusually hot, the case separates, the port is scorched or there is a chemical smell. Do not keep charging or press on the E-Ink panel.
NEW OR USED?
The right next step depends on whether data exists
Preserve the return window. Ask the seller for replacement or refund instructions.
Tell BOOX what is stored locally and ask whether a data-preserving recovery path is available before reset.
Disconnect power. Do not restart, open or ship it until the seller gives safe handling instructions.
BOOX's direct-store return policy says a defective or non-functional arrival can qualify for a full refund after inspection. It also says marketplace and reseller purchases must go through that seller. That makes the purchase channel more important than a generic recovery sequence.
WHAT TO AVOID
Do not sacrifice an easy exchange for a risky fix
- Do not factory-reset a brand-new unit as the first response. A reset is destructive and a device that never completed setup is better handled as an arrival fault.
- Do not keep forcing restarts. Repeatedly interrupting the same stage gives support less useful evidence and can complicate diagnosis.
- Do not flash a firmware file from a forum. BOOX models and packages are specific. Rooting, unofficial firmware or unauthorized software changes can also affect warranty coverage.
- Do not open the back or reseat a connector. BOOX says unauthorized dismantling and repair can end warranty coverage.
- Do not add accounts or confidential files if startup suddenly succeeds once. First test a normal shutdown, startup and sleep cycle while the return window remains open.
- Do not ship the device to an address copied from a forum. Use the seller's or BOOX's case-specific return instructions and keep tracking and photographs.
RETURN OR SUPPORT
Contact the company that actually sold the tablet
For Amazon or another marketplace, start with that seller's defective-item flow. For a direct BOOX Shop purchase, submit BOOX's Service Request and keep the case number. BOOX's current support table directs direct-store and Amazon hardware issues to its service form, while purchases from other sellers may need the seller first.
Include the exact model, purchase channel, order date, full elapsed loading time, whether the animation moved, charge-light behavior, accessories removed, cable and power source tested, and one short video. Share the serial number and proof of purchase only in the private case.
BOOX states that direct BOOX Shop core devices have a one-year warranty and Euro Shop purchases have two-year coverage. Direct-store returns can be requested within 30 days, subject to its current conditions and inspection. Local consumer rights may provide separate protection.
SOURCES AND LIMITS
What is confirmed
BOOX's current product, support, return and warranty pages and the current owner discussion were checked on October 28, 2026. The reports establish the visible symptom on at least two new units. BOOX's published policies establish the support and return routes. They do not identify a technical cause or show how common the fault is.
